Flooring Installation

Ramirez's Flooring Services has been installing and have been involved with flooring installations for over 25 years now. One of the most common questions I get from people looking to add new flooring to their home is how much installation will cost in addition to the cost of the materials. As a general rule of thumb, adding professional installation (whether through us or an outside service) will roughly double the cost of your job.

Here at Ramirez's Flooring Services, we do offer professional installation when you purchase from us, and our service is backed by decades of industry experience. We don’t bring in outside installation crews or fly-by-nighters to install your floor. When you get someone to install your floor on the cheap, you can generally expect a finished product that you’re not happy with or will run into issues with down the road. That’s because most of these installers don’t take the time or don’t know how to properly prep the floor before installation, and then they don’t put the boards together correctly.

Our installation service is purposefully small. I have only two crews that I trust with installations. It’s very hard to find installers that are properly trained and take care of their work and have integrity. My crews are older, seasoned mechanics that I have known for ten or more years.

We install Luxury Vinyl Tiles, laminate flooring, engineered flooring, and carpet. We do seal slabs and do extensive preparation when needed. We do not refinish hardwood flooring or install ceramic tile.

Our pricing is very competitive, and we would love to work for you and make your flooring installation a pleasant and pleasing experience instead of the nightmare you could end up going through with so many installers today.

Laminate Flooring

Add A Smart And Sophisticated Look To A Room, With Laminated Flooring

For those consumers who want a floor that is meant for active lifestyles, is easy to keep clean, and is fairly inexpensive, a laminated floor may be exactly what you are searching for.

Located in San Antonio, Texas, Ted’s wide selection of laminate flooring can match almost any décor — from formal to traditional to country to contemporary, we have the laminate floors that will bring your room alive!

We carry Mannington laminate floors and Quickstep laminate flooring, and we guarantee our professional installation.

For those of you who are wondering what a laminate floor is, laminates are a combination of special resins (melamine), a print film and paper layer, a fiber core in the middle, and a resin filled backer sheet that are all fused together into one solid piece.

Although they appear similar to a Formica countertop, laminate floors are really much more durable and scratch-resistant. Due to its construction and components, laminate flooring will not stain or fade from sunlight, and the finish is extremely impact resistant. These floors have precision tongue and groove edges for securing the planks together, and they can be installed over most types of subfloors.

One of the really exciting things with laminate flooring is that manufacturers have been able to recreate some of the old historic hardwood flooring styles, like rough-sawn barn oak, American chestnut, knotty pine, and several others. These floors can really add to the charm and feel of a room without breaking your pocketbook. Manufacturers also offer laminate floors in ceramic and stone tile patterns.

Expert Staff, Expert Installation

Choosing the right hardwood floor can be daunting – deciding on solid or engineered, which variety of wood species, selecting the most suitable system for your home situation – so let our expert staff help guide you to the right floor for your home.

Solid Wood Floor vs. Engineered Wood Floor

Solid wood floors are generally 3/4” thick and cut from American or Canadian hardwoods such as red or white oak, cherry, maple, hickory, or ash. Solid wood flooring is recommended for above-grade applications due to its sensitivity to moisture; it is installed by nailing down over a wooden subfloor. This flooring is available in a variety of widths, and the surface can be recoated and refinished several times, ensuring many years of beautiful flooring.

Engineered wood floors are manufactured by fusing together several layers of hardwood into planks. These floors are less susceptible to the effects of moisture and humidity and may be glued, nailed or floated over variety of subfloors, including some types of existing flooring. These floors are also available in a variety of widths, and are ready to install.

Exotic woods are imported from all over the world. These sustainable materials are distinctly different in appearance from traditional American hardwoods and can complement any décor.

Unfinished floors, while offering the most customizable appearance, can take days to install, stain and finish.

Prefinished floors install quickly, more easily, and can be factory-finished with a very durable surface.

The Right Hardwood Floor for the Right Grade Level

Most areas of the home can accommodate wood flooring, but in order to choose the best floor system, it is important to pair the type of flooring with the optimum subfloor material and grade level. Solid wood floors, nailed to the wood subflooring, are recommended for above-ground level, where there is more control over the room’s humidity. Since engineered floors are more resistant to humidity and moisture, they perform well when installed over concrete or pre-existing flooring, in ground-level and below-level rooms.

Benefits of Hardwood Floors

Wood flooring offers warmth, beauty, and timeless styling not to be found in other types of flooring. Over the years, a quality wood floor only increases the value of your home, as shown in a national survey of real estate agents; 90 percent said that houses with wood flooring sell faster and for higher prices than houses without wood floors.

Expert Staff, Expert Wood Floors are Affordable and Easy to Maintain

Today’s wood floors are easy to care for, with improved technology in stains and finishes. Everyday cleaning requires simple sweeping and/or vacuuming; occasional use of a professional wood-cleaning product recommended by Ted’s will ensure that your floor’s finish will remain beautiful. With a little attention, wood floors maintain their value over time, making wood floors economical and affordable in the long run.

Wood Flooring is Ecological

Wood floors are ecologically friendly. Since it is a natural resource, wood is a sustainable and recyclable material. Salvaged planks and beams from old wood ships, warehouses, barns, and other structures often find a second life in wood flooring.

Wood Floors offer a Wide Variety of Styles

Wood floors have come a long way in the past few years. Today, there are more styles, colors and species of wood flooring available than ever before. Whether you’re looking for traditional oak floor, rustic pine, exotic Brazilian cherry, or trendy bamboo, you’re sure to find a color and style to fit your décor.
